Memorial Donation to PPLF

Melitta Friesen
April 17, 1926 - December 14, 2012

Melitta Friesen was a very gracious woman, whose love and joy during her whole life ran very deep. Her contributions to family, church, music and friends were precious. She treasured life, but never doubted the hope that lay ahead. She was a loving wife and mother, a gifted musician and teacher, and a very loyal friend. Melitta was a dedicated member of Women in Mission in both Manitoba and Alberta for over 60 years.

In memory of that long membership, the Women in Mission group of First Mennonite Church, Edmonton made a donation to the Pennies and Prayer Inheritance Fund of Mennonite Women Canada. Melitta’s husband David recalls the many times they enjoyed playing piano and violin together. When they did so, he shared that she always wanted to include the hymn “Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! … This is my story, this is my song…

We hope that the support for the Pennies and Prayer Inheritance Fund will continue the story of Melitta’s life!

(This memorial donation was briefly mentioned in our latest issue of Connections.  This is the full write-up submitted by Melitta's family.)
