Karen Martens Zimmerly, former co-pastor of Grace Mennonite Church, Regina, has been called to be denominational pastor for Mennonite Church Canada.

Karen, the first woman to be called to this role, began in September 2008.

See Karen's indepth interview in the article "Leading leaders," in the June 9, 2008 issue of Canadian Mennonite. (Click on "Past Issues").

  1. God's richest blessings to Karen!
it is so nice to see women in such important positions.
This is also one of the reasons why ladies clubs don't quite measure up anymore. There are so many other things that our women are involved in and the opportunities out there are limitless!
I guess that is part of the demise of BC Women in Mission. Simply to difficult to get enough volunteers for the positions that needed to be filled.
We will have to think of more new ideas about how to connect our women and a blog is a great start. Don't you think?
So happy to have you join in this venture, Erna! :-)

  2. Just wanted to say how nice it was to meet our NEW Denominational Pastor, in person, at the MCBC AGM, Feb. 20 & 21, 2009.
